When it comes to running, we are Seriously serious...Seriously Mad about running.

If you like running and live or are visiting The Vale of Glamorgan, then this is the only group you'll need.

We are not a club, we are a group of friends that share a common interest in all things running.

Our regular group runs are every Monday and Thursday evening, with sessions at 6pm and 7:15pm as well as Tuesdays at 7:15pm.

We are also big supporters of Barry Island parkrun as well as Barry junior parkrun and many of us can be found either running or volunteering every Saturday and Sunday mornings at Barry Island or Romilly Park.

Monday is usually a run of between 3km and 7km, but will have options for those that want a longer route, up to around 10km.

Thursday is a group session where we try to all stay together and have a bit of fun whilst training and is usually a speed/hill session or a running fitness session to improve strength and speed.

We have a wide variety of abilities amongst our members ranging from absolute beginner, to seasoned marathon runners.
What ever your ability, you will be welcomed into our group.

Our sessions are devised, assesed for safety and led by Welsh Athletics qualified Coaches (CiRF) and Run Leaders (LiRF) and our routes are safe and well lit during the winter months, nobody is left to run alone and there will always be someone waiting at the end to ensure everyone gets back safely.

If you are interested in joining us, you are welcome to come along and take part. There are no fees to pay, it is completely free to join and run with us.

Congratulations Nathan Dee on passing your Coaching course.

We are doing a volunteer takeover at Barry Island parkrun on March 23rd and later in the spring a pacer event at Barry Island on May 18th.

After a long summer of hard work Ian and Julie have finally qualified as Coaches in Running Fitness and are both eager to help you all improve your running. Just ask for any advice.

Finally got around to updating the website to add our newest Run Leaders. 

Since our recent Sport Wales grant approval we will now be able to improve the structure and variety of our sessions whilst also making them safer for all who attend.

This also means we have to keep track of session numbers and are looking to include a 'sign in' sheet to aid this.

AWD T-Shirts are availlable to order in most sizes and can be personalised to your requirements.


AWD Vests are availlable to order in both male and female styles in most sizes. Vests can be printed with names if required.


Hoodies are the perfect match to your running shirts/vests. Much needed to prevent hypothermia after those winter events. Can be personalised as required and are standard or zippy.
